About Me

Autism Therapist in Plymouth

About Me

I have been married for 29 years and the proud mom of two beautiful, young adult daughters.  As a family, we started our own journey with autism when our eldest daughter was diagnosed at the age of 4.  She currently lives at home with us and keeps busy with many activities in the community.  Our youngest daughter is in college and is involved in many leadership roles within her school and community.

Because of our experience as a family, I have become passionate about helping individuals and families find a safe place to process their unique challenges in living life with autism.  After our daughter’s diagnosis, we found few resources and places where we could connect to help us learn to do family differently and help our daughter with her own challenges.  I opened my practice to help you and your family experience a sense of belonging and hope as you discover a full and meaningful life.

My Experience

My personal and professional experience has taught me that autism and special needs impacts the entire family system. While I have specialized in therapy for children, teens, and adults with autism over the last several years, I typically seek to work with siblings, parents, spouses, and caregivers to help your whole family thrive.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and the co-founder of Lionsgate Academy: a transition-focused public charter school specializing in educating students with autism spectrum disorders.  To learn more about Lionsgate, click here.

Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of treatment settings providing the following services:

  • Individual and family therapy with children, teens and adults
  • Couples and marriage counseling
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • Behavior analysis and observation
  • Autism specific education and consultation
  • Diagnostic evaluations for both children and adults
  • Relationship assessments for couples using Prepare/Enrich

My Training

I hold a Master of Arts degree (MA) in Counseling and Psychotherapy from Adler Graduate School and earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Child Psychology from the University of Minnesota.

When I’m away from work, you can find me spending time outdoors, walking, traveling, dreaming about making art and taking endless photos of my beloved pugs Chloe and Lily.

Interested in taking the next step?  I believe it’s important for us to get to know each other before making the commitment to work together, which is why I offer a complimentary phone meeting as your first step in working with me.
